Reef Break

While I love surfing, sometimes it's just as thrilling to free dive beneath the waves and observe the ocean’s power from below. Reef breaks like this one on the Big Island of Hawaii can be dangerous - one wrong move, and you’re slammed onto the sharp reef or rocks. Timing is everything, just like in surfing. I love this photo because it serves as a constant reminder of the raw, untamed force of the ocean, deepening my respect for it every time I look at it.
